Nordic Porridge with Kristen Rasmussen - December
Join Kristen Rasmussen, pioneer of “West Coast Nordic” cuisine, for a cozy meal of Scandi-inspired porridge during the darkest days of winter. We’ll also warm you up with a coffee or chai in a hand-thrown bespoke mug (that you get to take home!) and a traditional solstice sweet.
What to expect:
Learn about hygge (pronounced hyoo-guh aka Danish for "beyond cozy”), a term that demands community, candles, and warmth, by enjoying the food of fairy tales.
Porridge created with local whole grains, foraged ingredients, and delicious crispy bits. Savory, sweet, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options available (vegetarian option may contain dairy and/or egg).
Each student will enjoy a saffron-laced baked good traditional around solstice and a warm beverage (elderflower grapefruit mimosas available for purchase).
Take home your very special mug crafted by local ceramicist Ashley Hardy to keep the hygge going strong all winter!
Lots of candles.
Saturday, December 14th — Two seatings - 11am and 1pm
