Mushroom Workshop
Did you know that Oregon’s official state mushroom is the Chanterelle? Or that Oyster Mushrooms are carnivorous, eating small, microscopic insects?? There are over 10,000 different species of mushroom, and many are not only edible, but delicious!
Join us at Cookshop for a morning learning about all different varieties of mushrooms! Shannon Feltus, of Urban Farm Foods, will be doing a demo, handing out samples and recipes, and all participants will leave with a bag of mushrooms to use at home. Plus, we’ll have a raffle for a free upcoming class at Cookshop and other goodies!
This workshop is being held in partnership with the Ash Tree Farms, a mushroom farm in Vancouver, WA. Ash Tree Farms currently grows Lion's Mane, Reishi, Shiitake and King Oyster along with their original staple, the Blue Oyster Mushroom. The farmers will be on hand to answer questions, and will have mushroom growing kits available for sale.
Saturday, December 15th, 10:00 - 11:30 am
