Intro to Breads with Chef Luca, June 2023
First time bread bakers, join us as we make a selection of yeasted breads that can be made in an afternoon with little or no bread experience required! Think dinner rolls, focaccia, pan/sandwiches loaves. All of which use commercial yeast & easy to source flours and ingredients.
What to expect:
Class will include some demo and some hands-on time with dough.
Learn about proofing, how to shape different types of bread, and best baking practices.
You’ll leave the class with recipes, tools, and tips to be an expert home baker.
Lots of bread to snack on at the end of class!

About our Instructor:
San Francisco native who has lived in Oregon since 2010, Luca Ponti has been helping in the kitchen since he could talk. He started cooking professionally at Veritable Quandary, a quintessential Portland restaurant, where he developed his skills ranging from osso buco to pastry. He later became Lead Baker and Kitchen Manager at Sweedeedee in North Portland. where he became known for his exuberant energy, creativity, and the best pie in the state of Oregon, according to People Magazine.
