Vegan at Home: How to Kraut!

  • Cookshop 2625 Southeast 26th Avenue Portland, OR, 97202 United States (map)

Vegan at Home presents How to Kraut: fermentation for beginners! We'll be making sauerkraut from scratch, learning the basics of the lacto-fermentation process in an easy and tasty approach. In this hands-on method, we'll taste a range of sauerkraut samples and follow along with Chef Hawnuh Lee of Tzimmy in making our own take-home ferments. This good-for-you, naturally occurring probiotic condiment is a great addition to salads, soups, sandwiches, and so much more!

What To Expect:

  • You’ll learn basic cooking techniques, and the class will include some demo and lots of hands-on cooking time.

  • Beer and kombucha also available for purchase.

  • Please contact us BEFORE registering if you are unsure if this class will be a good match for your dietary needs.
