UPDATE: This event is now sold out! Please head to the Kitchen Culture website to check out Brett’s KitchenAide Fix It day in December!
Do you have a stand mixer that is need of service? Local industrial designer, Brett Stern, will be on hand on this full day of repair to prevent these trusted machines from ending up in the landfill.
The service will include opening up the unit to inspect, clean and re-grease the gears with food-safe grease; inspecting and adjusting the head locking mechanism; checking and adjusting the blade height and pivot point mechanism; checking the electrical cord; inspecting, cleaning and adjusting the speed switch; thoroughly cleaning the exterior of the machine and polishing the surface to make it look almost new.
Please review the details below to learn if this service is a good fit for your mixer.
The maintenance service detailed above costs $85. If replacement parts are needed, they may involve an additional fee. ($10 for speed or head locking lever or $20 worm drive gear, for example.)
Kitchen Aid® stand mixers that are eligible for this maintenance event are:
Tilt Head models: Classic, Classic Plus, Ultra Plus, Artisan
Lift Bowl model: Heavy Duty
Your stand mixer must be able to turn on.
You will need to bring the bowl, wire whisk and paddle attachments along with the machine.
PLEASE NOTE Brett will NOT work on:
Tilt head: Artisan mini, Epicurian
Lift bowl: 6 qt. Pro 600, Pro 6500, Pro Line
Once you’ve reserved your spot in the clinic, we will ask you to drop the machine + bowl/whisk/paddle off at Cookshop during specific windows the week prior:
Saturday, 10/19 - 10am - 4pm
Friday, 10/25 - 10am - 3pm or 6-8pm
