Back Pocket Desserts: Olive Oil Cake

Whether its wowing your next dinner party guests, creating a special treat at a weeknight dinner, or just satiating your own sweet tooth, this class will walk you through Chef Erin’s go-to desserts, plus toppings, garnishes and ways to take it to the next level. May’s class will cover a deliciously moist olive oil cake, fruit compote, chantilly cream and honeycomb.  

What to expect:

  • Registration fee includes all materials, ingredients, instruction and equipment.

  • Students will each take home (or eat!) their creations at the end of class.

  • Items made contain wheat flour, sugar, butter, eggs and nuts. Please contact us before signing up if you have allergies to any of these items.

About our Instructor:

Erin Connell is a native Oregonian who grew up mushroom hunting, crabbing, camping and playing outside whenever possible.  She has been cooking in Portland for almost 20 years, and enjoys both the savory and pastry sides of the kitchen. Erin currently works with Sesame Collective, creating sweets and desserts for restaurants like Shalom Y’all, Dolly Olive, and Mediterranean Exploration Company. In the summer you’ll find Erin gardening, pickling and preserving the season’s fruits and veggies- she loves teaching others how to do the same!
